Help Build Lives Through Simple, Decent Housing
Most of you know that the Cleveland District of the UMC has built 11 Habitat for Humanity Houses. In the year 2004 we would like to make that an even dozen! That's right, we are planning to build our 12th home beginning next spring. HOWEVER, we cannot build it unless we have the support of our congregations both financially and physically. It will cost us nearly $75,000 dollars to build a house that is worth much, much more. Let's work together on this wonderful mission project and see if we can put a family into a new home . Most of us spend more than $10 taking the family through the drive thru at our favorite fast food place for one meal. Imagine how much farther that $10 can go if it is joined with the others and is used to build a home for a needy family that will last a lifetime and more. Habitat would like for us to have $25,000 collected this fall, with the rest being paid next spring. The house would be built starting with a "Blitz" in May. Please do all you can to help reach our twelfth house goal. Many churches have Habitat funds already collected and others have fund raisers in mind. At the Spring District Conference we announced our 2004 goal and we pray that you have been working toward your part in the project. Habitat for Humanity is also a wonderful place to learn new skills in carpentry and construction. Come and volunteer as often as you are able. We will be looking for site managers and leaders this year as some of our most experienced people are feeling a bit older and would like to pass the hammer off to someone a bit younger! If you are interested in helping financially and/or physically, please contact Pastor Jan Yandell at (216)664-
